Inktober 2015 – Part 1
I’ve been in the bleachers too long.
I decided to tag along on #inktober and spend a month focusing on inking, giving some of my new inks and pens a proper acid test in the process.
Nice hats and Rhino Pats
One of my biggest childhood fears was of this character from Peter and the Wolf
More fun with Sumi ink and bamboo reeds.
This ink stick is extremely fun. I’m sure there’s a correct way of using this bamboo nib, but the drunkenly uncoordinated strokes it puts out from my untrained hand are perfect for these kinds of drawings.
The Emu War, also known as the Great Emu War, was a nuisance wildlife management military operation undertaken in Australia over the latter part of 1932
I trialed a Sumi ink stick and bamboo nib for this one. The strokes are a fun disaster of erratic weight variation. The ink held its own really well in the Rhodia pad I was using so I think I’ll dedicate the whole thing to birbs and birb related accoutrements.
